Ride and Stride is an annual sponsored cycle or hike to raise money for churches in Kent.
Why not come along and share in a few hours with friends touring the glorious Kent countryside, via the odd tearoom or two, riding or walking to local churches with opportunity to see these beautiful buildings, some of which are not normally open.
Money raised is shared 50/50 between St Giles and other Kent churches. Wormshill residents have been great supporters of the event in the past and this could be our best yet!
A family-friendly group ride will start from St Giles at 10:30am, visiting around 5 churches via Bredgar Farm Shop. The route is loosely:
- Wormshill – St Giles to St James at Bicknor (2 miles)
- Bicknor to St John the Baptist at Bredgar (2.5 miles)
- Bredgar Café for tea, coffee and cake
- Bredgar to St Mary and the Holy Cross at Milstead (2 miles)
- Milstead to St Dunstan at Frinsted (1.5 miles)
- Frinsted back to St Giles (0.75 miles via vertical hill)
In addition to ‘riders and striders’, volunteers are needed to hold the fort at St Giles between 10:00am and 4:00pm in 1-hour slots – please contact Nigel or James via email (or WhatsApp) if you can help.
To participate, please download the sponsor form below and the Churches Visited form to bring along on the day. If you are interested to know how the collections raised are used, please see the Friends of Kent Churches Annual Report below.
